From 2014-2019, I was lucky enough to produce content for the Purdue Men's Basketball team. This content ranged from short social media videos, to recruiting videos, to the run out video, to a short documentary of the late Caleb Swanigan.
I am very thankful for the opportunities that I had and the places that I got to go. From the 2014 season to now, I am proud of how we were able to build on the success of the team and the @BoilerBall social pages.
Lifestyle Campaign
The 2018-19 season was expected to be a successful one for Purdue Men's Basketball. With the return of Carsen Edwards and two senior leaders in Ryan Cline and Grady Eifert, Purdue was expected to go far in the NCAA Tournament.
Because of that expectation, we really wanted to amp up our content and highlight the guys on and off of the court. I had the idea to do a photo and video shoot with the team in their street clothes, not their uniforms. This allowed us to showcase them as people and not just basketball players.
We were able to use this content throughout the entire season utilizing it in graphics and video for our marketing needs. Below are just some of the examples of how we, as a team, were able to promote the Purdue Men's Basketball team.
The Nation's Most Exciting
Building off of the success of Purdue Football and their upset win over #2 Ohio State, I had the idea to showcase Purdue's two most-exciting athletes, Carsen Edwards and Rondale Moore. This video was produced in order to gain attention with recruits and fans and show that "The Nation's Most Exciting" play at Purdue.
Hype Videos
These videos were produced for social media and for the in-venue video boards.
